Position Summary: Provides leadership in developing and managing the University's online institutional repository, and for planning, selecting and organizing digital projects for inclusion. Develops, manages, and provides guidance on digital collections that are created by the library and other units around the University, including materials related to accreditation and assessment. Manages acquisition and access to government documents. Supervises paraprofessional library staff. Participates in professional activities and professional development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Works with university faculty and librarians to develop general collections, policies, and services; manages the daily operations related to the acquisition, processing, digitization, organization, and access of special collections and university archives materials and reports. Manages locally-created digital materials, taking a lead role in the creation, maintenance and stewardship of these digital collections for the libraries in an online institutional repository. Manages the University theses and dissertations collection workflow. Manages acquisition and processing of print and digital materials for a partial Federal Depository Library collection. Supervises paraprofessional staff; engages in professional and scholarly activities that enhance the university, the library, the community, or the library profession; serves as liaison to other university faculty; provides reference services; reports to the library director.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Progressively responsible experience in an academic library, museum, or archives, including experience working with software and best practices in online institutional repositories; proven ability to collaborate with teaching faculty or professional scholars in project management or implementation experience working collaboratively with others in a professional environment; experience working with Dublin Core, EAD MODS, METS, or other XML-based standards; excellent oral and written communication skills.

Minimum Education, Certification, or Experience Requirements: Master’s degree required; master's degree in library/information science accredited by the American Library Association strongly preferred (with expected completion date of August 2019). Minimum of 2 years of experience in a full-time professional librarian or museum archivist position required.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the provision of library services in an automated environment; knowledge of contemporary issues in library services; evidence of service and leadership in the library profession. Experience implementing a digital repository program from inception to completion. Supervisory experience in an academic library setting. Understanding of copyrights and intellectual property. Experience supervising or working in a federal government documents depository program.
