Job Title: Electronic Resources Librarian

Job Description:
The Electronic Resources Librarian coordinates the selection, licensing, acquisition, and activation of electronic resources, as well as the receiving of physical resources, and maintains related library systems to ensure that students and faculty have access to the resources they need for teaching and learning.


  • Coordinates ordering work for subscriptions and services, including the negotiation of complex license agreements, in compliance with university policies and state laws
  • Coordinates receiving and activation work for resources in all formats, ensuring that library systems accurately reflect holdings and access rights so users can locate the resources that they require
  • Provides data, analysis, and recommendations to support selection and budgeting decisions
  • Supervises and leads a team of Library Assistants daily, assigning tasks and projects, communicating relevant information, and approving timesheets
  • Provides reference and instruction assistance in a variety of formats to the University community and members of the general public
  • Serves as a liaison to one or more academic departments, collecting materials that support coursework, and building relationships with students and faculty through outreach work

Marginal Duties: Performs all other duties as assigned

  • Supervision Given: Has primary responsibility for conducting performance evaluations and making recommendations for hiring and dismissing employees


  • Knowledge of integrated library systems;


  • Good technical skills, including proficiency in MS Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills


  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse university community.

Work Location and Physical Demands: Primary Work Location: Works in an office and library environment

Physical Demands: Work is performed in a typical interior work environment, which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements; the individual has discretion in relation to walking, standing, etc., and has minimal exposure to physical risks


  • Required Education: Master's Degree in Library and Information Science or a related field from a University accredited by the American Library Association
  • Required Experience: Minimum of 3 years of related job experience
  • License/ Certification: None required

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat are preferred
